Bulk Powders Complete Greens Review

Bulk Powders Complete greens reviewBulk Powders, established in 2005, is a UK based health and wellbeing brand that produces a vast array of vitamins, supplements, healthy foods, protein and superfood powders.

The brand has grown exponentially since it was founded and has become of the biggest names in the supplement world.

Complete Greens is a super greens blend that contains some of the most powerful super greens ingredients, such as Chlorella, Moringa, and Spirulina.

Bulk Powders have ensured its formula is suitable for a range of people regardless of dietary requirements, and Complete Greens is suitable for vegetarians and vegans, as well as being non-GMO, dairy-free, gluten-free, soy-free and lactose-free. The mix also contains no allergens.

Although the brand has a substantial amount of focus on creating supplements and powders for those that practice sport and regularly workout, it also produces a multitude of powdered supplements for those that simply don’t get enough nutrition through their diet, and in 2012, the Complete Greens formula was showcased to the world.

The Complete Greens mix is one of these products and has been designed for those that don’t have enough time to focus on getting their correct nutritional intake through foods. Bulk Powders market the Complete Greens saying it “is suitable for anyone looking to increase their protein and fiber intake, as well as those who are looking to add some quality green foods to their diet, without the chewing.”

Bulk Powders Complete Greens formula contains potent ingredients that provide consumers with a variety of health benefits, as well as ensuring they are receiving the vitamins and minerals that are essential for everyday optimal health. We will take a look more closely at the health benefits provided by specific ingredients later on in the review, but as a whole, the mix has an array of benefits.

Bulk Powders claim that just one scoop of the Complete Greens mix is the equivalent to consuming more than 5 of your 5-a-day. The formula is rich in vitamins and minerals, essential fatty acids and fiber, which means you will benefit from an increase in energy, better digestion, improved brain functions and reduction of inflammation in the body.

The powder as a whole ranks highly on the ORAC scale (Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity) which therefore means it is rich in antioxidants. Consuming antioxidants comes with an array of health benefits, including protecting the cells from radical change that can lead to serious illnesses, and aiding the body into a detoxified state and pushing all of the toxins from the system.

There are two versions of the Complete Greens formula, the unflavoured version, and the flavored versions that come in Apple and Lime, Peach and Mango or Mixed Berry. The unflavoured Complete Greens contains 10 ingredients, and all flavored versions contain 13 ingredients. Over time the brand has lowered the amount of ingredients in the formula, ensuring it only contains what it needs to and nothing more.

The unflavoured version of Bulk Powders Complete Greens ingredients are Spirulina, Chlorella, Broccoli, Wheatgrass, Pumpkin Protein, Barley Grass, Alfalfa, Spinach, Moringa and Kale. The flavored version contains the same ingredients, and adds natural flavorings, citric acid and stevia extract to make the desired flavor.

As a globally known brand, all of the ingredients added can be clearly seen and the brand always shows the utmost transparency. The brand shares the separate amounts of each ingredient within the powder, which means you know how much of each ingredient you will be receiving in one scoop, meaning you can work out if you are actually receiving the daily amount of nutrition, rather than just assuming.

As there are only 10 main ingredients within the formula, we can take a look at the health benefits deriving from each one. So, let’s take a look at what the Complete Greens mix has to offer.

As mentioned above, you can choose to either purchase flavored or unflavoured Complete Greens. The unflavoured formula tastes strong, earthy and grassy, like many other unsweetened super greens powders. The flavored mixes taste slightly better, but still have an underlying natural taste.

Bulk Powders sells Complete Greens mix in either 100g or 500g pouches, as well as selling both flavored and unflavoured mixes. We will compare the costs of these variants.

The brand recommends a serving size of 9g (0.3oz) which is a generous serving size in comparison to competitor super greens powders. Therefore, a 100g pouch would last just over 11 days, and a 500g pouch would last just over 55 days. However, the serving size you use might be smaller and therefore, the pouch you purchase could last you a lot longer.

  • A 100g pouch of unflavoured Complete Greens costs $4.96. If you were to use the recommended serving size of 9g, then the cost per serving would be $0.45.
  • A 500g pouch of unflavoured Complete Greens costs $21.82. If you were to use the recommended serving size of 9g, then the cost per serving would be $0.40.
  • A 100g pouch of any type of flavored Complete Greens costs $6.76. If you were to use the recommended serving size of 9g, then the cost per serving would be $0.61.
  • A 500g pouch of any type of flavored Complete Greens costs $40.15. If you were to use the recommended serving size of 9g, then the cost per serving would be $0.73.

Regardless of the size of the pouch you purchase, or whether you choose a flavored or unflavoured mix, Complete Greens is extremely cost-effective and cheap in comparison to other super greens powders.

There’s an array of reviews about Complete Greens on third party websites, which we always look at to ensure we are looking at unbiased reviews.

The majority of reviews of the product are very positive. Take a look at one of the positive reviews below (12):

Really like this product, have been using it for over a year. A great way of making sure you’re getting your 5 a day (although you should make sure you’re still eating fruit and veg). Mixes really well, no bits in the shake. Flavour is good.

Although, not all reviews are so positive. Nearly all of the negative reviews have one thing in common – people hate the taste, especially those that have purchased the unflavoured mix. This is a matter of personal preference and shouldn’t be taken into account too seriously.

Take a look at one of the negative reviews below (12):

I bought this to add to smoothies…terrible idea! I added it to my fresh smoothie and it completely ruined the taste. I took one sip and had to throw it away. I even used less than the recommended because it smelt so bad and it still ruined it. Definitely not worth it, add some spinach to your smoothie instead.

You can buy Complete Greens from the Bulk Powders website, as well as third party supplement websites and Amazon. We always recommend purchasing supplements on a brand’s website, to ensure your payment is secure and if you do experience any problems, the brand’s team has a log of your purchase. At the time of writing this article, the brand does sell products in high street shops in the UK.

Overall, Complete Greens is a beneficial, cost-effective super greens mix from a well-known, trusted brand. The formula is potent and provides an array of health benefits, most reviews are positive, and the brand is transparent.

The only negative about the product would have to be the taste, but that’s a matter of personal preference.
