Morning Complete Wellness Drink Review

Morning Complete ReviewFrom multivitamin capsules to green powder supplements to probiotic drinks, there are health supplements for almost every health benefit out there. And with the ever-increasing variety of health and wellness supplements these days, they are becoming dietary staples for a growing number of people.

All this variety is great until you start to fret over which product to get. I mean, every product looks totally beneficial but your wallet can’t bear the burden of paying for so many different supplements.

That’s when the all-in-one wellness drinks save the day. When faced with an overwhelming selection of supplements that all claim to be great for your health, the idea of a single wellness drink that holds multiple benefits is probably the easiest choice to make.

While there are a number of wellness drinks out there claiming to promote multiple benefits, none are quite as renowned as ActivatedYou’s Morning Complete daily wellness drink. This 3-in-1 supplement integrates the benefits of prebiotics, probiotics and green superfoods into one simple water-soluble product that you can easily prepare and consume first thing in the morning.

Convenience is definitely one of Morning Complete’s prominent benefits, but of course, the quality and effectiveness of the supplement are what matters most. Evaluating a health supplement can be difficult for those who are new to the scene, and even seasoned consumers find it tedious to settle on a product that works for you.

Thus, we dug deep into Morning Complete’s background and ingredient list to investigate its purported health benefits in this specially compiled review. We also did some taste-testing and made price comparisons to help you better decide if this is the wellness drink for you.

Morning Complete is the most popular product by wellness label ActivatedYou, which sells a variety of popular supplements ranging from probiotics to active enzymes to algae omegas.

The brand is perhaps best known for being co-founded by Hollywood actress Maggie Q. Apart from her star power, Maggie’s role as a health advocate also boosts ActivatedYou’s credentials.

But of course, a brand is always more than their founders. And ActivatedYou does have benefits worth bragging about — their products incorporate a unique blend of Eastern and Western medical values, their formulas are scientifically proven and best of all, they are environmentally-friendly.

This gives Morning Complete some extra brownie points because green products have that added trust factor these days. Since they’re good for the environment, you can pretty much expect them to be good for your body too.

Morning Complete contains the benefits of prebiotics, probiotics, and green superfoods to give a holistic boost to both your physical and mental health. The supplement promotes healthy organs to support your body’s internal functions such as digestion and even basic cellular functions.

The green superfoods were specially selected for maximum nutritional value, along with other natural ingredients that regulate your body’s metabolism rate to aid with weight management. It also contains antioxidants to detox your body and keeps you in the pink of health.

Morning Complete promises good internal health and hence better energy levels and moods. The supplement also incorporates the stress-relieving mental health benefits of adaptogens that are commonly used in traditional Chinese medicine.

In a nutshell, Morning Complete promises all-round health benefits for both the body and mind. The company also states that their product is targeted at anybody who wants an overall wellness recharge and wants to start the day on a healthy note.

While a 3-in-1 health supplement sounds too convenient to resist, many multi-benefit supplements tend to fall short on quality and fail to deliver the individual benefits they promise. Whether Morning Complete falls under this trend or emerges as an effective product depends on the ingredients, so let’s get to the juicy part of this review and find out how Morning Complete fares.

Morning Complete’s ingredients can be categorized into several key groups. First and foremost, the ingredients that makeup prebiotics, probiotics, and green superfoods.

But there are other ingredient groups to further enhance Morning Complete’s wellness value too. There are the aforementioned metabolic-enhancing ingredients, stress-relieving adaptogens and of course, the antioxidants which are an indispensable ingredient in any wellness supplement.

To add on, there are also extra ingredients for sugar-balancing support, cellular function support, and finally, liver support.

Of course, there are no artificial flavorings present in the product, but it does contain some natural flavorings of citric acid, rice hull concentrate, monk fruit extract, and guar gum.

The best way to investigate the nutritional benefits of a supplement is by digging deep into their ingredient list, so here’s a detailed breakdown of Morning Complete’s ingredient list, including the amount of each ingredient per serving.

Prebiotics and fiber – Total amount per serving (4.05g)

Ingredients: chicory root fructooligosaccharides, cinnamon bark

Probiotics – Total amount per serving (10 billion CFU*)

Ingredients: B. coagulans, L. gasseri, L. plantarum, L. rhamnosus, B. bifidum, B. longum, L. acidophilus, L. casei, S. thermophilus

*CFU stands for colony-forming units, which is a measurement of a probiotic’s dosage

Green superfoods – Total amount per serving (735mg)

Ingredients: spinach, broccoli, kale, mulberry leaf extract, alfalfa leaf, barley grass, berberine HCL

Metabolic enhancers – Total amount per serving (390mg)

Ingredients: green tea leaf extract, ginger root, white tea leaf extract, turmeric root extract, bitter melon fruit extract, black pepper

Adaptogens – Total amount per serving (55mg)

Ingredients: Astragalus root extract, Rhodiola Rosea root extract, diindolylmethane (DIM)

Antioxidants – Total amount per serving (100mg)

Ingredients: Lycium berry, pomegranate fruit extract, polygonum cuspidatum root extract (50% resveratrol)

Sugar Balancing Supporters – Total amount per serving (100mg)

Ingredients: Gymnema Sylvestre leaf, fennel seed, pine bark extract

Cellular Function and Liver Supporters – Total amount per serving (30mg)

Ingredients: organic aloe vera leaf, milk thistle seed extract

Morning Complete does boast a pretty impressive ingredient list — there’s a whole range of both Eastern and Western ingredients which really supports their brand’s image of being a unique east-meets-west formula.

For example, one of Morning Complete’s most prominent Eastern ingredients is astragalus, which is a popular herb used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for its ability to build up the body’s defenses. In particular, astragalus is really beneficial for the spleen and the respiratory system.

Be it Eastern or Western, every of Morning Complete’s ingredients is a good selection of some of the best superfoods out there.

Firstly, the prebiotic list contains chicory root, one of the richest prebiotic ingredients.

Next, the green superfood list has some of our favorite nutritious veggies, including kale, spinach, and broccoli.

We’re pleasantly surprised to see barley grass replacing the usual wheatgrass. With benefits ranging from detoxification to alkalizing power, barley grass is a great superfood that is sadly underutilized in the supplement world.

Also, we’re loving the metabolic enhancer list. Green tea leaf and white tea leaf have been scientifically proven to help with weight management, which is great news for anyone looking to boost their metabolic rate.

However, when it comes to the amount of each ingredient in the supplement, it seems that Morning Complete is lacking a bit when it comes to substance.

For starters, each serving is 7.6g and the prebiotic blend makes up more than half of this.

Rather shockingly, the green superfood blend is tiny, which is one of the key ingredient groups in the product, doesn’t even add up to a full gram.

We understand that serving size alone doesn’t fully explain how effective a product is as some products are more concentrated than others. But Morning Complete’s ingredient list doesn’t do much to convince us of its benefits — the individual weight of each ingredient isn’t stated, so it’s really hard for us to make estimations.

Furthermore, the numbers alone already lower our expectations of the supplements. Less than a gram of green superfoods is really quite a small amount when you consider the recommended vegetable intake of an adult, which is about two to three cups a day.

The same goes for the adaptogens present. These mood-improving ingredients make up 55mg of a serving of Morning Complete.

However, the health benefits of adaptogens are only visible when higher quantities are taken. A scientific study published in PubMed found that people only experienced noticeable health benefits of Rhodiola extract when they consumed 200mg of it every day for two weeks.

For all its shortcomings when it comes to the quantity of each ingredient, at least Morning Complete doesn’t scrimp on the probiotics. Getting 10 billion CFU in one serving is considered a decent amount — the experts at Consumer Lab have stated that a probiotic should contain a minimum of one billion CFU in a serving.

Furthermore, the average amount that most supplements contain falls between one to 10 billion CFU, which means Morning Complete fares really well in the probiotics zone.

So, while Morning Complete’s less-than-impressive formula kinda lowers our expectations of its effectiveness, at least we know it makes a good probiotic supplement.

Having analyzed Morning Complete’s ingredient list and composition at length, we now move on to the fun part of this review (at least for us) — the taste test. Morning Complete comes in a mouthwatering-sounding Apple Cinnamon flavor, and its delicious taste is one of the product’s selling propositions.

A Morning Complete drink is easily made by dissolving a scoop of the powder in your liquid of preference. We tried ours with plain water and found that the drink tasted pleasant, though not spectacularly “delicious”.

As far as supplement drinks go, Morning Complete isn’t the worst by a far mile, though we couldn’t say it’s the best either. In short, the taste shouldn’t really be a factor when you are deciding whether to buy the product or not.

On a side note, Morning Complete is compatible with other drinks such as green tea, so it’s possible that you could customize your drink to suit your taste buds better.

The last part of this review is, of course, the price analysis. After all, cost-effectiveness plays such a huge price, especially when there are so many other wellness products out there in the market.

Here’s the lowdown: a single jar of Morning Complete that contains about 30 servings (weighing 7.6g each) costs $79. This equates to $2.60 per serving, which is really expensive compared to other products in the market.

It would be considered a good price if the product really does deliver the multiple health benefits it promises, but our investigation of Morning Complete’s ingredients leads us to the conclusion that you’d be mostly paying for a probiotic, metabolic-boosting supplement and not much more. The steep price definitely isn’t justified by the low ingredient quantities.

But if you’re still considering buying Morning Complete for its powerful brand image or for its wide range of ingredients, you’d be pleased to know that buying multiple jars at a go can help you save some money. Morning Complete has a sweet discount scheme, whereas buying 3 jars gets you a 10% discount, and buying 6 jars gets you a 15% discount.

If you’ve made up your mind on your purchase, Morning Complete is available to order on the ActivatedYou website. There are no external merchants selling the product at the moment, so it’s a good thing the supplement comes with free shipping.

To recap our review, we first looked into Morning Complete’s brand background and found them to be fairly established and renowned. Then we investigated their ingredient list and were rather disappointed by what we saw.

The taste test didn’t do much to change our judgment, and the price scared us a little.

Ultimately, we’ve come to the conclusion that Morning Complete is rather overpriced for its low ingredient quantity, but at least the brand is trustworthy.

Before you make your final judgment on whether to purchase Morning Complete or not, it’s probably a good idea to check out the prices of other super green supplements that promote the product’s individual benefits (ie prebiotics, probiotics, and superfoods) as the odds are that you’ll find something more value for money.

  1. I like the idea of having someone put these things to the test. It helps me out alot. I have been trying to find a pre and probiotic with superfoods in it for a reasonable price. Keep me inform of any that you find.
